FUMEO X900 DOUBLE-BAND PROJECTOR

Title

FUMEO X900 DOUBLE-BAND PROJECTOR

Description

This 16mm projector is a special produced to use super 16mm film. This arrangement utilised the whole frame which meant there was no room for an optical sound track. This was used to produce a greater definition particularly for art films etc. Thus the sound track was produced on a separate 16mm gauge film which allowed the whole of the width to be used for this purpose providing room for effects tracks etc. The film was threaded as normally. The 'sound' film was threaded through the rear assembly and both 'prints' were run down and synchronised. Double-band projectors could be found mostly in Art Houses, Film Theatres and specialist halls.
