VICTOR c/w Sound-on-Disk Attachment

Title

VICTOR c/w Sound-on-Disk Attachment

Description

This standard Victor 16mm projector represents one of the first sound 'home talkie' units which could be obtained. The projector has a turntable attachment by which a 10" or 12" 78 or 80 rpm record could be played either as a sound track to a silent or wedded 'talkie' film or as a sound acompanyment. The unit may be a Western Electric attachment. The turntable was synchonised to the projector in much the same way as in the cinemas of the day and realistic sound could be experienced. Acquired totally derelict and restored by Colin Cowles.
