BINGOSCOPE silent PROJECTOR
Title
BINGOSCOPE silent PROJECTOR
Description
According to Gerald McKee the Bing projectors were a poorly machine in many respects.. The Bing British has a single tooth claw, no flywheel, no condenser no shutter thus the hand-crank ing was jerky and the light output poor. It runs Pathescope 30ft. cassettes through a book formed gate and what's more the claw was too big for the 9.5mm perforations thus lots of film damage. Basically a Toy projector it did improve slightly. There were four models being a 30ft. battery illuminated model with fixed focus lens, a 60ft. battery illuminated, a clockwork model with battery illumination and a mains transformer for the lamp. There were combinations of these models. Pathescope produced 15ft. Mini-films which attempted to make a little story. BING comes from the likely association with the Francis Bing toy firm of Germany.
