SIMPLEX XL PROJECTOR fitted with ASHCRAFT SUPREX Carbon Arc & RCA Soundhead

Title

SIMPLEX XL PROJECTOR fitted with ASHCRAFT SUPREX Carbon Arc & RCA Soundhead

Description

The Simplex projector is a later model than artefact 18 in that it does not have control box operation. Otherwise it is an identical projector. The Ashcraft Suprex arc lamp is pure American in design and large to accommodate the largest cinemas ever built. Though there were Ashcraft's in the UK this one is thought to be the only one still existing. Barry Diamondstone, a projection engineer with Odeon rescued this outfit for preservation.
