DeBRIE D16 SOUND PROJECTOR
Title
DeBRIE D16 SOUND PROJECTOR
Description
Originating from the designs of Andre DeBrie these projectors were favoured by the British Government post WW2 and were used extensively by the Forces, particularly the Army. This was probably due to its 'unit' construction enabling easy maintenance. Simple to operate with the two large sprockets and swing gate. Light out put is 750 watts. The powerful motor for the projector drive also cooled the lamp. There is a gauge at the head of the gate which indicates the oil flow which is pumped around bearings and shafts etc. The main fault with the machine is this pumping of oil which being under pressure often leaked all over the picture gate. Nevertheless a superb projector. All post-war models were grey. Black Debrie's were pre- war one of which can be found in the Collection.
